Registrations for the Winter 2021 Season will open in early March.
Bentleigh Lakers is a family club that caters for all ages and skill levels and we’d love you to join our club.
We are a volunteer run club and rely on parents and others to fill all roles such as coaches, team managers, committee members and age group coordinators.
We play over 2 seasons (summer and winter) as part of the McKinnon Basketball Association. Registrations open in late February for the Winter season and mid August for the summer season.
Late registrations will only be accepted if there are spots available in teams. Please contact the Club at registerforlakers@gmail.com
The Age Groups and birth years for the Summer 2020-21 Season are:
U10 – 2012/13/14 (players must turn 7 before the start of the season)
U12 – 2010/11
U14 – 2008/09
U16 – 2006/07
U18 – 2004/05 **
If you are younger than 7 or don’t want to join a team, the McKinnon Basketball Association runs a number of development programs. Check out their website at http://mckinnonbasketball.org/programs/
Training venue/day/times
Training venue/day/times will not be determined and advised until all registrations are completed and teams are formed as it depends upon the number of teams and coach/venue availability.Venues we use for training are Valkstone Primary School, McKinnon Primary School and Hughesdale Primary School.
New Player Session
New Player Sessions are held prior to each season to assist with grading and uniform sizing.
Clearances/Transfers
If a player is transferring from/to another club within the McKinnon Basketball Association, then a MBA clearance form must be completed, signed by the club he/she is leaving and forwarded to the MBA office for approval before 5pm on Monday following the season’s Grand final. Uniforms
Existing Players– can order a new uniform online using the link below. If ordering a new singlet, please ensure you input the player’s existing singlet number – DO NOT CHOOSE A NEW SINGLET NUMBER. Sizing charts are available online, however if you’re unsure, sample uniforms will be available to try on – contact the Club on registerforlakers@gmail.com
New players – MUST have a Club Approved Singlet Number before ordering a uniform online (using link below). If you haven’t received your Club Approved Singlet Number, please contact the club at registerforlakers@gmail.com . UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE NEW PLAYERS TO CHOOSE THEIR SINGLET NUMBER.
